We've debated a couple times in the past about getting another pup. We started with one, had two, then had one again and weren't entirely sure if the one would appreciate some company. We've looked at www.petfinder.com many times, but I think we were always afraid to actually go for it. Recently, Jason found out one of his friends wanted to give away her pup because she didn't feel she had time for her. We found out she was six years old, which would mean she would be older than our current pup, so initially I really wasn't sure about "adopting" a somewhat older pup. We threw the idea around, he met the pup, fell in love, arranged for us to meet today, I fell in love and here we are.

Throwback - Christmas Day 2012
Continuing the throwbacks...Christmas day 2012! One of the few days of the year that we have family photos. My brother wasn't back this year, so it did feel a little different. It will be difficult with both of us getting married within a year to figure out the holiday situation going forward, but hopefully we will get to spend some holidays together this year.

Throwback - Christmas Cookies 2012
We decided at Christmas time that we wanted to make cookies, but none of the stores we went to had the right food coloring! We ended up with Valentine's/Easter colored cookies, but they were still a lot of fun to make and delicious. The last one is supposed to be Kirin... :]

A Weekend In Review
The weekend was full of birthday celebrations. Jason took me to one of our favorite sushi places, Sushi Murasaki, on Friday for my birthday. On Saturday afternoon, we went out to Happy Harbor for surprise dim sum for Tim Yao's birthday, his birthday is a day after mine on the 23rd! Saturday night, we went out to eat with my parents for me and my Dad's birthday (his birthday is on the 26th!). We tried to eat at the place where my brother will be having his wedding reception next year, but it was crazy crowded so we ended up at a different restaurant. Sunday was just relaxing and hanging out.
Twenty-six has been a blessed and exciting year and I excited to find out what 27+ has in store.

A Weekend in Review
We took a trip to Las Vegas to visit
Jason's parents and take them out for a super late birthday dinner
celebration. It was a quick trip, but we'll be back soon.
When
you tell people in Southern California that you're going to Vegas for
the weekend, the automatic assumption is you're going to be in extreme
party mode when it actually means we're usually going to see family.
It's funny how the idea of "going to Vegas" has evolved since I met
Jason, but I like it much better now.

A Weekend in Review
This past weekend basically consisted of food, food, and more food. Wedding diet is over so the feasting has begun!
After parking outside for about a week under lots of trees when our garage was broken, our cars had gotten pretty dirty. We took them to the car wash Saturday early afternoon and went to go have lunch at Win Thai since it was within walking distance while waiting for the cars.
That night, I met up with Christine and Starla to feast! Our first stop was Lola Gaspar, we each ordered one item and shared the duck mac and cheese, and dessert! Unfortunately, after the first serving I was too busy feasting to take any pictures. The drink in the first picture is called a Huckleberry made of bourbon, honey, grapefruit, thyme, and bitters. Although, I'm a fan of bourbon served straight, this cocktail was more than delicious.
Our next stop was Rite-Aid to get ice cream (I wasn't kidding about the feasting) and then we headed to Copper Door but they were closed for remodeling!!! Saddened, that our bellies would not be filled with strawberry beer, we headed to Proof instead. We were the first ones there, had a couple drinks, and once the younger crowd started coming, we headed home like the oldies we are. All in all, it was a very successful feasting night with two people I adore.
Today was quiet. We did our usual Sunday routine, had brunch at Cafe Casse Croute, and then Jason started making pot roast while I cleaned up the house a bit.
I am one lucky girl that I have a husband who cooks. Not only does he cook but he cooks really well! The pot roast was delicious, as usual, and I'm already looking forward to eating the leftovers tomorrow.
We ended the weekend trying to finish up our Thank You cards. We are almost done! We are just waiting for our "Keep in Touch" cards to come in to insert and send them off.
Hope everybody had a good weekend!
